According to Lililana, all alarm clocks should be put in a large room, and bulldozed. How she missed her mother coming in her room, just two years ago, whispering with her sweet, sweet voice, “Breakfast is ready.”
Lililana forced herself out of bed onto the cold, hardwood floor. As she made her way to the minuscule bathroom that she shared with her fraternal twin, Selenia, she noticed the Bass Pro Shops catalog on the floor. Her dad once was a neat freak, but after his wife, Monica, died in a boating accident, it was like he was oblivious to the world. She took off her pajamas and got into the shower. She turned the bath knob and hot water rained down into the tub. She stood there for a moment, enjoying the downpour with it refreshing touched, letting it take her to a better place. She was gliding across the dance floor, her body melted into the arms of Grener Blue, her boyfriend. The world was a blur as the interlocked bodies moved round and round. They thought of nothing but each other until she heard someone rapping at the bathroom door. She quickly washed her hair and got out. Puddles formed on the floor as her hair dripped with the lukewarm liquid. She grabbed her hair dryer and twisted the door handle. Her sister pushed passed her leaving Lililana with a shivering face and sadness in her heart as the vision of Grener, faded away into the dreary March morning.
