What's Happening In My Life: Beginning of School

Hello webberconnected boys and girls! I wanted to talk to you all about a very important thing that we all go through in our lives… school. Yes, I know. Let the groans begin, but like it or not, it’s a requirement in America, so we all must do our time in the brick building of books and pencil shavings.
I recently started my sophomore year in high school. I’m not going to lie to you, it’s been way more challenging than I expected. (I should probably be studying right now.) Last year, I was a freshman. In our high school, all the 9th graders have to be in the 9th Grade Academy. It was really easy, and I took my classes very lightly. When I came into the actual high school, I assumed it would be just as easy. I was wrong. Sophomore year is so much more challenging. I have so much homework that I don’t know what to do! (I’m so glad it’s Labor Day weekend. I get one extra day to get stuff done and prepare myself for the week ahead.) I am having a hard time adjusting, and I have to work on getting accustomed to my new situation every day.
On a positive note, I am learning a lot. Just because I am having to adjust doesn’t mean it’s a negative experience. Now to have the chance to tell you all to prepare, prepare, prepare! Create great study habits in middle school and in a 9th grade academy if you have one. This is imperative for your success in high school. It’s not going to be easy, and you’re going to have to work hard, but it will be worth it in the end. High school can be a really fun part of your life. Do your best in your classes, so you can enjoy all the experiences that will be coming your way! Best of luck! J
